Kevin and I have been dead to the world lately because Maddy has been really sick. It started last Sunday when we noticed that she was moodier than usual but we just thought she was teething. Then Monday was a bad day at the babysitters and it went downhill from there. She started vomiting and having diarrhea. So Kevin took her to the doctors and they said she had a viral gastrointestinal thing going on. I stayed home with her Wednesday and she was miserable and then Kevin stayed home Thursday and said she was fine. But then on Friday when I stayed home again, she threw up four times! We both went through a lot of different outfits that day. But by Friday she had developed a really bad cough and runny nose. Every time that she threw up it was after a huge coughing fit so I think it was more of a gag reflux than a stomach bug. She has not thrown up yet today but it still coughing a lot and is very temperamental.
I HATE seeing my baby sick! It has been the saddest part of parenthood so far. When she would cry after throwing up then I started crying too. I wanted to take all of the pain away or be able to explain it to her but all I could do was sing her to sleep and rock with her. I think she is on the mend and hopefully tomorrow is an even better day than today! Wish us luck!

Poor little thing. I feel bad for her (and you guys too). That's rough... :(
She does look sad. I hate when kids get sick. At least you were able to spend some extra time with her (see the silver lining). The worst is when they throw up and don't understand. At least she threw up on you, easier clean up. Blake once threw up on the couch and we couldn't get the smell out for week. Yuck! Hope she starts feeling better. I just want to hug her!
