Reno 911

On Saturday Maddy and I dropped Kevin off in Spanish Springs to ride his motorcycle and then we headed to Old Navy. I was driving the Jeep because we had to haul the motorcycle and I also had both sets of keys with me. I parked the car and then opened Maddy's door and locked all the doors. I put down the keys and was in the process of unbuckling Maddy and putting on my hoodie when the door shut. I am not sure if it was the wind or what but now my baby, my cell phone, and both sets of keys were locked in the Jeep. It took me a moment to register what had just happened but then I started to panic. I ran inside Old Navy and frantically asked the poor register girl if I could use her phone. Then I dialed 911. I did not know who else to call and my baby was in trouble. The dispatch lady was very nice and said that she would send someone to get my baby out.

I went back to the Jeep and Maddy and I played peek-a-boo. She was a little bit upset but overall she did great. I have no idea how long it took them to repsond but I think it was about 5-10 minutes. I was looking all around and noticed a Sparks Firetruck coming through the parking lot. I waved them over and they parked right next to me. I felt like an idiot! Four of Sparks finest firefighters got out and went to work. Poor Maddy- she started bawling when she saw them. But they got the doors unlocked and I got my baby out! No harm done except to my pride.

She still loves me!

I know I shouldn't be laughing right now but that's just too funny. I'm glad Maddy is okay.
