So Prom was the first week in April but I am not fully recovered from it yet. The good thing was that it was a success! Lots of kids said that it was better than last year and I didn't hear anything really bad about it. They were even happy with it being at the school. So yeah!
So the night before the dance I was at the school until 7:30 with my students decorating the entrance hallway. Then I went home and was making cookies until like 12. The next morning I got up at 6 and finished making cookies. We got to the school at 9 and started setting up again. Kevin and a custodian were in charge of the ceiling and we had 2 companies come in to help decorate and drop off stuff.
Our main problem was that we needed to cover the gym floor so it wouldn't get scuffed by high heels but we could not do that until after we had finished using the lift. So timing was a bit tight. Most of the kids left around 12-1 to start getting ready but luckily some parents stayed to help. I left the school at 4:30 to run home and shower and get dressed. On my way back I stopped at Costco to buy 600 waterbottles and locked my keys in the car!!!!
Kevin came and got me and we got back to the school at 6:45. I was thinking that it was going to be alright because nobody comes on time but they were already arriving!!!! So I hurried and got the sign-in stuff ready but then I had to immediately leave again with the school police officer to go get my car. Long story short it all worked out even though I felt like an idiot but it just made the night seem frazzled to me. Oh well- its over!
