Ellie Sue born June 29 at 1:35 am
8 pounds and 21 inches long
I had planned on having Ellie on July 3rd even though her due date was June 29. The appointment was all set with the doctor and the hospital and I had things planned for the weekend and for Monday and Tuesday. June 30 is Scott's birthday and I still needed to do some shopping, wrap his presents and make his cake. I was in no way prepared to have a baby yet.
The night of June 28th Kevin mentioned that maybe I should pack the kids bag just in case so I did and got my bag all ready as well. The evening was uneventful and then I woke up at 11:30 with heartburn and so I got up and took a tums and was fiddling on the Ipad when I had a contraction. I was hoping it was just a braxton hick and then I had another one 10 minutes later. Then another one and so I woke Kevin up and told him I was pretty sure I was in labor. I then called my mom and woke her up at 3 am and then called a friend in the ward to see if she could stay with the kids until Kevin's parents came from Fallon (which is an hour away). I took a shower because I felt gross from the water park and kept having more contractions. Of course this was the one night that I did not clean my house before going to bed so I tidied it up a bit while waiting for my friend. We got to the hospital at 12:30 and Kevin had to drag me across the parking lot. We got up to labor and delivery and then took me right in and started getting stuff set up.
When they checked me the first time I was dilated to a 9! I was not expecting that at all and knew that the possibility of getting an epidural was slim to none. I basically started freaking out because I never intended to have a baby naturally and did not think I could do it on such short notice. My doctor came in at 1:30 and broke m water as I started pushing and Ellie was born at 1:35 which was an hour after I got there. It was a crazy experience and happened so fast but we are so grateful that everything cam out amazing.
She is beautiful and sleeps well and is loved by her siblings. I am just trying to keep her from being loved too much by them.

Congratulations. I love the picture with Kevin looking at her, so funny. That's a pretty fun birth story.
