Thoughts On My Mind

1. It is hard being a teenager today. Or at least it is hard being a teenager at my high school. My students are middle to lower class and most of them have EXTREMELY rough family lives. Many of their parents have been to jail, some of them have been to jail, many have lived or are currently living in foster care or with grandparents. It just breaks my heart when they tell me their life stories. I wish that I could bring them home with me and show them what a loving family is really like. All in all my students are not bad kids- they try most of the time and there is only one student in each of my classes that I could do without. I am going to try my hardest this year to remember them in my prayers and give them love and attention at school. I am so grateful that I have loving parents and the gospel in my life.

2. Applebees is a yucky restaurant. Kevin and I went there to eat last weekend because they had all you can eat Riblets. They weren't very good and neither was my pasta. Then they charged our card twice and we just got our money back today. I know that $25 might not be a lot of money to some people but when you are poor than it is a weeks worth of groceries!

3. So I went to the dentist on Monday and I have FIVE cavities. Oh well- it could be worse. Right?

4. The only good thing about going back to work is that I am losing weight! I basically ate junk food all summer but now I can only eat what I pack in my lunch which is basically a sandwich.

5. Maddy is my child in more ways than one. But one of the ways is that she already wants Ice Cream. Yesterday after school and work, Kevin and I were indulging in some mint deliciousness. I was holding Maddy and I started to move her towards Kevin and his ice cream bowl- she immediately opened up her mouth and begged for a bite. I thought this was hilarious and about the cutest thing ever. Then Kevin took her and put his empty bowl down on the couch arm. He moved her towards his ice cream bowl again but this time she opened her mouth, stuck out her tongue and tried to lick the bowl! I was dying with laughter. We shouldn't tease her like that but before she knows it she will be eating Graeters!

6. Today is Maddy's 4 Month Birthday! We go to the doctor next Friday and I am very excited to see how much she has grown. I cannot believe she is already 4 Months! She is getting so big and I miss my little baby. Now that she is such a big girl we are going to become much more consistent with teaching her to roll over. That is my new goal.

Don't be too eager to get her mobile, although as a first time parent it's something you can't wait for. It just gets that much harder. She is so stinking cute. She is probably having ice cream withdrawals anyways since you ate so much of it when you were pregnant. =)

oh she is so beautiful, just like her momma. It doesn't look like your mouth is rotting. I just went to the dentist and I will get a filling next week :( My teeth are full of crowns, fillings, root canals, you name it. UGH!

So when are we going to get Maddy a deal as a GAP baby? She could be making you enough money to buy an Applebee's just so you could burn it down. She's such a good baby.

I agree with how you feel about Applebees! That would be my very least favorite restaurant!
